12 bramley apples
250-300 gr brown sugar
juice and rind of one lemon
1-2 cinnamon sticks
70-80 ml water
- peel and core apples, cut into small pieces
- put apples, sugar, cinnamon and water in a saucepan and heat for 5-10 minutes until apples soften
- add lemon juice and rind
- cook and stir another 20-30 minutes until apples break down into a puree
